Dear Professor Amarel,
My oral exam is scheduled for May 19, so by definition I now have a
first draft of my thesis ready. Actually, a few appendices are
missing and the overview chapter is only half written.
I thought that you might wish to look it over. Also, please show it
to Dr. Srinivasan and to Larry Welsch, who have contacted me about it.
Criticism is encouraged! When final drafts are available, I'll mail
copies to all of you. A users' manual is in preparation, and will be
available soon, as well.
Chapter 2 contains an introductory example. The next few chapters
deal with the control structure and representation in great detail.
The last couple chapters present some of the results and conclusions.
If you think of a better title, I'm still open for suggestions. The
subtitle is of course a joke, and will change before the final draft.
My wife and I will be in Philadelphia in late May and early June;
perhaps we can get together at that time. In any case, I hope to
hear from you soon.
